RAMPART IC adds Dr. Eric Secemsky to its Medical Advisory Board

BIRMINGHAM, AL - RAMPART IC is pleased to announce that renowned interventional cardiologist Eric A. Secemsky M.D. will join the company’s growing Medical Advisory Board to help guide Rampart’s mission to offer better radiation protection solutions for teams providing care in interventional suites. Dr. Secemsky MSc, RPVI, FACC, FAHA, FSCAI, FSVM is currently Director of Vascular Intervention and interventional cardiologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Dr. Secemsky is passionate about maintaining the well-being of not only his patients, but his colleagues and staff who perform interventional procedures while being exposed to the risks of ionizing radiation and the effects of wearing heavy lead aprons.

Deciding to serve on Rampart’s medical board was an easy commitment for the already very busy Dr. Secemsky. “I’m honored to join the Rampart Medical Advisory Board. Radiation safety and orthopedic protection are a passion of mine. Performing countless complex procedures over the years has shown me first-hand the risks of ionizing radiation and the orthopedic damage from wearing heavy lead aprons. I want to ensure the next generation of interventional teams experience a safer and more comfortable work environment, so they can be active and enjoy life outside the interventional suite,” he said.

Dr. Secemsky joins Drs. Rhian Davies, Bill Lombardi, Bill Nicholson, Steve Steuterman, Didier TcheTche, and Prof. James Spratt on Rampart's Medical Advisory Board.

Clinically, Dr. Secemsky splits his time attending in the cardiac catheterization lab and the inpatient and outpatient vascular medicine services. Dr. Secemsky leads the interventional cardiology and vascular research program at the Smith Center for Outcomes Research in Cardiology.

He is an Associate Editor at Vascular Medicine and is on the Editorial Boards at Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions and JSCAI. He is also the current Chair of the PERT Consortium Research Committee, is a writing member of the 2022 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Management of Lower Extremity Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), and is on the Board of Directors for the VIVA Foundation and the Society for Vascular Medicine.
